A group of ex-Samsung engineers is raising funds on Kickstarter for a small device that can turn any screen into a fully interactive touch screen.
The device, called Glamos, is essentially a motion sensor that uses LiDAR or Light Detection and Ranging technology to create a virtual touchscreen with instant interaction capability.
Surely it is premature to judge its effectiveness and there is so far no information if it will be compatible with more complicated applications, not to mention any flight simulation software.
But if it does, it could be a promising alternative for keyboard inputs that many of us flightsimmers are looking for or are interested in, such as for enhanced cockpit controls.
If you are interested to support the project (more details from here), be careful since refund may not be possible if the product doesn’t come out eventually.
