A friend’s friend who asked him where would be the best place to put my gauges for MSFS. The question was referred to me later. Although I already replied to him, I think it would still be useful to put a post about it.
=====
For those who are installing my new gauges for MSFS:
1.
If you are using the Logitech’s Plugin for MSFS, just run the installer in the gauge package, the new gauge(s) will be placed in the plugin folder accordingly and the corresponding PluginPages.xml will be updated automatically.
2.
If you are using SPAD.neXt, the location is all up to you, because you’ll have to add the gauge folder(s) in SPAD.neXt so that SPAD.neXt knows where to find the gauges.
=====
For those who have/are installing my gauges for FSX/P3D, there are three options to use the gauges in MSFS:
1.
If you are using SPAD.neXt, you should be able to use them in MSFS as you did for FSX/P3D.
2.
If you have the new FSUIPC7 for your FSX/P3D setup, you could continue to use the FSX/P3D gauges in MSFS as well via FSUIPC 7 without the need of Logitech’s Plugin for MSFS.
3.
If you don’t have SPAD.neXt nor FSUIPC7, you’ll need to install the Logitech’s Plugin for MSFS. Then copy the FSX/P3D gauges to the MSFS Plugin folder (C:\Program Files\Logitech\Microsoft Flight Simulator Plugin); and then further copy the gauge entries in SaiFlightSimX.xml to PluginPages.xml in MSFS Plugin folder in order to run them in MSFS.
Above is a quick summary regarding running my gauges (either earlier FSX/P3D or the latest MSFS lines) in the new Microsoft Flight Simulator.
