685: GPS Navigation Enforced

Without a flight plan, the NAV needle (or CDI) on the VOR(s) will always stay in the center when the GPS Mode is selected:

Otherwise, when a flight plan is active, the needle will sway left or right accordingly to the flight path.

This GPS Navigation feature was reported missing in the MSFS Multi-shared VOR1 sometimes ago.  Now it has been added back not only to the VOR1 but also to the C152 VOR2 (and will be to other relevant gauges if necessary.)

To try out this feature, open a new flight session and set LYPG as departure and LYTV as arrival airports, with NAV frequencies 109.90 and 113.30.

Then take off and follow the flight path.  Try toggle between NAV and GPS mode in the air; and then clear the flight plan and try again to see how the NAV needle responses in both situations. It’s fun.

Do note that this GPS navigation might not work on all aircraft.  It only works when the aircraft has such a feature.  In addition, the Multi-shared VOR1 and C152 VOR2 might respond differently, especially on non-default MSFS aircraft.
