After the recent SU8 update, I encountered serious stutters and intermittent freezes within the Switzerland areas. My immediately reaction was to rebuild the rolling cache as I had experienced similar situation once or twice before.
However, the rebuilding didn’t solve the issue this time.
After playing with various settings with no luck, I then tested the system with no addons. Wala ! The stutters and short freezes were gone.
I didn’t think of doing it in the first place because the stutters were happening in the Switzerland areas only.
So now the cause was found but which addon(s) was/were the culprit(s)?
After many additions and removals, the two culprits were finally found. They are the Switzerland Mesh from FSDreamTeam and the free Austria DEM downloaded from Flightsim.to. The two meshes work quite well all along.
Now they have been removed temporarily. Hope there will be fixes soon.
I have no more meshes. If you are experiencing similar issue in the area or other regions, check if your meshes become messes.

Interesting stuff Tom, but who really can thoroughly test out these meshes? We just hope they can be as accurate as possible from the outset, bought 3 meshes for FS2020 last night from ORBX, Alaska, Asia and NZ, the hope is they are good from the outset, but it takes time or luck to happen upon errors in massive area’s like these and my experience of ORBX moderators is not good any-more, they hate complaints and try to bury them.
Often sarcastic comments that lead to more sarcastic comments and then bans.
Their attitude seems to be any customer who has a problem is a pest and they try to bury the problem and any feedback on it.
I try to stay away from them now and look at smaller area’s they produce and only then after careful consideration and comparing originals, because they sure have been guilty of quickly churning out scenery’s for MS20202 that were already quite good IMHO and they need to be pulled up on that. IMHO. Their original London scenery was far worse and it took a concentrated effort of You tube videos by an Irishman before they backed down and made improvements to that scenery.
I sincerely hope I have no problems with the three ORBX Mesh MS2020 area’s I bought last night, because they don’t listen to me any-more there, I’m banned. Nick says I have to heed his warnings to be good and as a Scotsman who prefers truth, we are in stale mate city, nobody like that is going to emotionally blackmail me to his terms and conditions, I’d just rather not post there any-more and buy more selectively from them.

You are correct Colin. Luckily, I don’t purchase much addons these days as I am quite happy with MSFS alone.
Really, you don’t have to do anything if you don’t experience any issue as I reported.
For the Orbx mesh, so far I don’t find any problem with them yet. Touch wood.
Regarding your comment to Orbx forum, I couldn’t agree with you more. Actually, it was one of the reasons I built this blog as I had some pretty rude responses from the forum to some comments I made over a decade ago.
With my own blog, I can say whatever I think appropriate and reasonable. Since then, I rarely visit the Forum.
Lastly, yes, FSX Times is still alive even though I don’t post much these days.
