Just noticed that Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D (P3D) V5.4 was released yesterday. From its website, the update has over a hundred of fixes and improvements.

But more interestingly, there are rumours (even limited) saying that P3DV6 will be coming soon. I am really scratching my head.
Agreed with some of the respondents in the P3D forum that the market for P3D is basically dead. The user base of P3D has dropped significantly. That’s obvious.
Even if the new version does come, it will be questionable how many developers would spend time developing new addons or revamping their existing products to get compatible with it.
Also I doubt how many users will be willing to pay another $200 for the upgrade. The product’s expensive upgrading policy has been critisized since its first launch. I was one who spent $800 in the simulator alone from V2 to V5, not to be mentioned thousands of dollars I extra put on its addons. I definitely won’t do it again.
Sadly and surely, all my putting ins in P3D were wasted. But I have no regret moving to MSFS.
Nevertheless, it still worths a mentioning of the simulator’s V5.4 update because P3D did accompanied me many good flightsimming years in the past.
Good luck! I think it is what the Lockheed Martin’s P3D team needs.
