Since updating to the latest MSFS 2024 beta, I’ve experienced new performance stutters that weren’t there before, specifically when flying over dense areas or landing at detailed airports.
After some debugging, I discovered that the game’s GPU preference had somehow reverted to the default “Let Windows decide.”

Once I switched it back to “High Performance,” everything returned to normal.
I’m not sure if the update or something else reset this, but I’ll definitely be checking this setting again if any unexplained spikes or glitches reappear.
While the “Let Windows decide” option works fine for basic tasks, it is commonly known that it often fails to properly trigger the dedicated GPU for demanding software like MSFS, leading to poor performance.
Your mileage may vary!
