542: MS FS Strikes Back !?

The following MS Flight Simulator Trailer is notified by Brian, my friend.  It is awesome and hope that it could be played and set up as the old FSX.

541: FIP Gauge Installer is now 8.0.150.0-Compatible

The automatic installer of my gauges is now compatible with the newer Logitech driver 8.0.150.0.

However, if you don’t encounter any issue with your current versions, keep on using them.  DO NOT UPDATE your driver to the newer version.

Because if you do, all your gauges already installed WILL BE REMOVED and you will have to REINSTALL them again.

COCKPIT: Paul Alessie (EHAM, Netherlands)

Paul Alessie started building his generic GA cockpit a few years ago for the training of his private pilot license.  The pictures shown below are from the 5th version of his cockpit, which is mostly based on the BeechCraft Duke but can also be used for several other aircraft.

He says he attends the FSweekend at Lelystad every year to show other people what is possible with this (quite expensive) hobby.

540: For Those Who Love Flying Upside Down

The Alabeo Extra 300S coming with Prepar3D is such a fun aircraft that I couldn’t help flying aerobatic once in a while, even though I mostly got dizzy after it.

After the G5 instruments, I was planning to resume my cockpit rebuilding.  But since a new piece of equipment is still on its way, I decided to go ahead with the Extra 300S gauges first, which I’ve been thinking of for a long time.

There are new elements in the gauge set.  One of them is the dual slip/skid indicators Continue reading

538: G5 Update for FSX/P3D is Coming

My original update plan for the G5 FSX/P3D version was June or July this year so I can spend more time on my cockpit rebuilding.   However, since many G5 FSX/P3D users asked when the update will be available, I have pulled the plan to the top of my list.

Following is a quick video of the G5 (with dual flight directors) on B58 in motion.

In terms of appearance and operations, Continue reading

537: C172SP Gauges with New Back-lit Effect

The C172SP Standalone Gauges (FSX/P3D) have just been updated to R5r02 with new back-lit effect as shown below comparing the previous version.

For some reasons, the update took a much longer time than expected.   Anyway, it’s available now.

Current users should have received download links by now in their mailboxes.   If not, contact me by email or Continue reading

535: Garmin G5 for XP-11 Video Preview

Following is a video showing the current status of the Garmin G5 gauges being developed for X-Plane. The ATT and HSI from the XPL B58 in the middle are used for comparison.

The G5 gauges on the FIPs (Flight Instrument Panels) look pretty nice as they closely resemble the real one in terms of physical dimensions. Continue reading
