408: Mooney Bravo Gauges Released

Over the last 10 months, I’ve put more time on making gauges for FIPs than flying in the virtual world, as I am excited to see them evolving from some original basic attempts into current skillful works.   A rather unexpected alternative satisfaction I never thought would have gained from flight simulation.

mooneybravo_eng1_gifsThe latest project I just finished is the Mooney Bravo, which consists of two integrated Engine gauges plus the ASI, HSI and TCR.   Some new techniques have been used in this gauge set, such as a selectable DME 1 & 2 display, and the stepping-style elevator, rudder and wing flaps indicators. 407: B737 Cockpit Building Tips

Ever wanted to build your cockpit but have not a clue where to get started?   Marcus from Marcuswald Air recently sent me his 737-800NG photos for the Cockpits section.  In addition, he has included a photo-book about the building of his cockpit.marcuswald

He said that the document didn’t have a great deal of text but thought it was best to go with photos and it was just meant to show the build in generic terms with a bit of humor.

The photo-book can be downloaded from here or by clicking the image of the book.

Thank you Marcus.

406: Saitek Driver Toggler

As mentioned in my Post 380 back in mid-September last year, I was working on a utility that would allow the toggling of the ON/OFF status of the Saitek Driver because SPAD.neXt requires the Saitek Driver to be removed (or unloaded) from the system in order to run properly.

Here it comes at last and I call the utility “SToggler” (abbr for fsx_times_saitektogglerSaitek Driver Toggler“).  Edit: The utility has been updated and renamed as FIP Driver Toggler.   It is compatible with either Saitek or Logitech FIP drivers now.

The utility was designed to serve my needs to keep both Saitek and SPAD.neXt drivers on my system and at the same time could be selectively used when either of them was called up without interfering the other.

What the utility does when executes: Continue reading

Cockpit: Ben Weaver (KBJC, USA)

Ben Weaver in Colorado recently sent me his cockpit photos as follows.   His idea of using a piece cloth to build up a temporary cockpit enclosure is brilliant and effective.   You will also find a video link that showcases his cockpit build at the end of the post.

News: Spaceship Program Update

Remember the story about the Spaceship Landed in Panama reported in sds-1mid-October?   The project has proceeded to the next stage and there is now a dedicated blog page about it.

In addition to the information about the program, Erik has also shared his view regarding monitor choosing for the project and how he overcame stutter issues in FSX and P3D during the project development.

405: No Objection Allowed!

Not really in mood these days on my gauge projects or writing posts for the blog.  Pre-holiday mood I guess.

But I really want to say somethings after a friend who sent me his account spammingsuspension notice from Orbx because he just expressed his opinions against the company’s recent dropping of PayPal in their shop.

Read the posts.  My friend and many others as customers do have their good reasons against the company’s decision.   Continue reading

News: Goodbye RealAir Simulations

May be you have heard or seen the news already.   It’s sad to hear RealAir Simulations is leaving us.   Best wishes to all in the company.

404: A2A PA28 Engine Gauges Released

Didn’t expect to complete this Integrated Engine Gauges for the A2A PA28 so soon myself since I was saying that I had been stuck by the layout for it in the last post.   I just had it figured out in a dream a few days ago.   No kidding.

a2a_pa28_eng_gif-smallWith this Engine Gauges, all instrument on the A2A PA28 are almost covered.   Surely there will be new features, such as the Trim wheels & Flaps Indicators and stall indicator, to be added to the gauge set in future updates as in other gauges.

In addition, my button and knob setup in SPAD.neXt for this Integrated Gauges (such as the EGT reference needle) will be provided as references to users, too.

Anyone interested in this Engine gauges could click on the image above for more information.   And if you are already users of my the A2A PA28 bundles, feel free to contact me for discount via email directly.
