The STOL Savage Norden from Got Friends isn’t quite my cup of tea and probably isn’t attracting many eyeballs among flightsimmers, frankly speaking. But its Airspeed Indicator and Altimeter do look fancy and beautiful. It was fun to create them as well, although they took me more than twice as long as I would have taken to create similar gauges.

Additionally, since the G5 PFD works great with the two instruments to build up a glass-like cockpit environment, Continue reading

894: New Generic Autopilot Control
I’ve been thinking of some direct visual feedbacks to compliment the Realsimgear GFC500 autopilot control (APC) that I have. Here comes at last the APC that I based on the Maule M7 model in FSX.
This full-function APC, in practice, can work alone and is good for any aircraft running standard MSFS commands. However, due to different design implementations and flight simulation platforms (MSFS2024, MSFS2020, P3D, & FSX), it may react a little different from aircraft-to-aircraft.
Moreover, third-party planes, such as the A2A PA24, Continue reading
891: VOR2 Bug on XP12 C172SP
In addition to the EGT data handling differences on the INTFG (ENG) of my C172SP gauges in XP12, I found the VOR2 for C172SP stops functioning as well after the recent 12.2.0-r1 update. Thankfully, the VOR2 keeps working properly in XP11.
After investigation, I discovered the cause of the issue is due to the dataref codes used for VOR2 on the C172SP in XP12 have all been changed from pilot mode to copilot mode, making the necessary VOR2 data no longer fed to the gauge.
I was baffled by the issue in the beginning because I didn’t spot any anomaly from the virtual cockpit on the monitor screen Continue reading
889: XPL C172SP INTFG R1r04 Update
Due to differences in EGT data handling in XP12 on the C172SP, an additional modified INTFG (ENG) version is developed accordingly to address the change.

Download link for the extra XP12 version has been sent to all users prior to this post. It should be in the mailboxes of all users by now.
Should you have not received the mail, please check your spam folder first, and then contact me by email (tom.fsxtimes@gmail.com) or via the Comment Section below.
NOTE again that this version is for XP12 only. If you are running XP11, you don’t need to install it. Continue reading
888: Additional IAS Scales for G5 PFD
The additional IAS Scales for the Generic G5 PFD are now open for sale. There are
five more new Scales (4 from BKSQ and 1 from Carenado) added to the list in the last couple of days.
There are more to come on my schedule and user suggestions are welcome.
The IAS Scales are sold on a user-selectable 4-pack basis. All current G5 PFD users could contact me for a special discount if they are interested in this 4-Pack Offer.
But note again that these IAS Scales are designed for the latest G5 PFD R4r04, and to be used in MSFS (both FS2020 and FS2024) only. Continue reading
887: Generic G5 PFD R4r04 Update
My GENERIC G5 PFD Gauge for MSFS (FS2020/24) have been updated to R4r04. One of the key enhancements is the inclusion of an aircraft label on the Power Off screen showing the IAS Scale being used.
In previous version without the label, not only many users reflected, I got confused with which IAS Scale being enabled as well.
In addition, the new update also combined the earlier IAS Scales with separate Vrefs for Take Off and Landing (for G58 and SR22) into one single Scale for simpler operations.
Indeed, the update processes will be totally invisible to users.
However, since the new enhancements involved structural modifications in the G5 Gauge Installer as well as in the G5_Airspeed_Switcher (Switcher), users who acquired additional on-demand IAS Scales for specific aircraft from me previously should contact me for an updated version of their Scales, so as to be compatible with the new G5 PFD.
Furthermore, Continue reading
876: Single-needle VOR2 for C172 in FS2024
The VOR1 and VOR2 on the C172 were initially different as shown in the image below when FS2020 was launched.
After 18 months or so, the VOR2 had changed to adapt an identical layout of the VOR1, making both gauges look the same.
Now in the new FS2024, the VOR2 on the C172 Basic models has reverted back to use the single-needle version again. Not sure if the instrument is going to follow the path of its bigger brother to become identical to VOR1 in the future or not.
Some MSFS C172 gauge users emailed me not long ago if I could re-develop the single-needle C172 VOR2 for FS2024.
Frankly, I don’t have an answer since FS2024 is still buggy and prone to changes.
However, Continue reading
853: Two BKSQ Analog Baron Gauges Released
Developer Black Square has made over some analog gauges for MSFS aircraft using glass cockpit panels. One of them is the widely flown Beechcraft B58.
Actually I was not aware of it at all until a friend, Andrea, in Italy who asked me if I could make the FIP gauges for it about a month ago. And he was so kind to sponsor me the aircraft for checking before I could confirm him if the project was feasible.
So here’s the Airspeed Indicator (ASI) and the Engine Pack tailor-made for the Black Square Analog Baron.
And in particular, as the Black Square Baron comes with both a standard and a pressurized version of the aircraft, corresponding FIP gauges Continue reading
852: BKSQ Duke Shared Altimeter Released
Hybrid-style instruments are always my favorites
as they not only look nicer but also provide more references. The new Altimeter for the Black Square (BKSQ) Dukes is one of them, which, in fact, is not only good for the B60 Piston, Grand and Turbine Dukes, but also can be used on all other MSFS aircraft.
Two versions were created for the instrument. The Clean Version on the left Continue reading
