470: The X-Plane C172SP Gauge Set is Coming

Following is the movie clip of the C172SP Gauges developed for X-Plane 11.   Even better, the gauges could run properly without the need of SPAD.neXt.

For those systems which have Saitek or Logitech drivers already installed, the X-Plane addition is a no-brainer.

Since these gauges are written from the native X-Plane datarefs and commands, they are NOT COMPATIBLE with the “FIP Support” feature in SPAD.neXt.

In other words, as long as the “FIP Support” feature under “DEVICES” of “Settings” in SPAD.neXt is DISABLED, these new X-Plane gauges could be run alongside with SPAD.neXt, if so desired, without any problem. Continue reading →

467: Logitech Driver 8.0.144.0 has Error

While working on a fix to address the differences in filenames between the old Saitek drivers and the new Logitech drivers for the installer program of my gauges yesterday, I found the latest FSX and Prepar3D Plug-in on Logitech website simply has error itself.Again, as suggested in my earlier Post 447, DO NOT update your already working Saitek drivers to the Logitech ones for the moment.   If you already did or if you are new Saitek Gear users after the acquisition, at least do not use this 8.0.144.0 version.  The earlier 8.0.132.0 version is fine.

466: Generic G5 HSI Released

When the generic G5 style PFD was released in April this year, I was saying that a matching G5 style HSI was being planned (actually was being built) to go with it.   However, the project was given ways to many other instrument over the months.  Until now, it has finally completed.

Doesn’t like the G5 PFD which in some ways has been customized to be used on specific aircraft, the generic G5 HSI can generally fit on all aircraft that run on standard FS commands as its name suggests.

Besides working best in pair with the generic PFD, it is also a good replacement to the basic Directional Gyro when used alone.

464: B737 MFD & EICAS Released

The B737 MFD (Multi-Function Display) and EICAS (Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System) are now ready.   Probably don’t need explanations from me about what they are.
   
Just one thing to note about the MFD: NO waypoints and airports will be shown on the display due to limitations of the Flight Instrument Panel (FIP) itself.  However, all other features found on the expanded and circular models are virtually implemented.

463: B737 PFD Released

The B737 PFD has just been released.   It is so far the most complicated FIP gauge I’ve ever made, even with the experience I had from the Garmin G5 PFD.

The bug checking and fine-tuning for the B737 PFD (Primary Flight Display) is completed.   Following is a photo (click to enlarge) of it with the coming EICAS (Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System) and MFD (Multi-Function Display) sitting next to it.

461: B737 PFD to be Released Soon

In the last few weeks, I’ve been working hard on the Primary Flight Display (PFD) for the FSX default B737.   The development is based on the feedback from users, especially G5 PFD users, who want somethings truly matching the B737.

The gauge is generally completed with all the features found on the default B737 PFD, such as warning bars and displays for maximum and minimum speeds, decision height and altitude, etc.

460: B737 Gauges Now PMDG Compatible

Last week, a user of my default FSX B737 Flaps Indicator in Italy asked if the gauge could be modified to cope with the PMDG B737.  Since there were similar requests, I finally made a purchase of the aircraft to check the possibility.

After some modifications, the Flaps Indicator and Wet compass of the B737 gauges are now compatible with the PMDG 737 via extra versions customized for  
the aircraft.   However, the back light effect recently implemented on the B737 gauges is still ONLY good for the FSX Default B737. Continue reading →

458: Speed Brake on Mooney Bravo ASI

Thanks to Kenneth Quinn in the US who requested an indication for the Speed Brake engagement on the Mooney Bravo.  Now the feature is implemented on the airspeed indicator accordingly.
