Download links for my C172 gauges updates have all been sent by emails.   Any users who don’t receive my mails should contact me directly or notify me via the Comment Section below.

321: C172 Gauges Price Reduced

Due to the coming of Christmas and the new A36 and B58 gauges, plus the C172 gauges have been released for nearly a year, prices of both the Integrated and Standalone C172 gauges have been reduced up to 25% off.

In addition, the latest versions of both series, now equipped with the newly written installer, are fully compatible with both the file structures from the old and the new Saitek drivers as well as the SPAD.neXt driver as mentioned in the previous post.

Installation is even simpler.   Continue reading

320: SPAD.neXt with FIP Support Released

SPAD.neXt (Saitek Panel Advanced Drivers neXt Generation) by Ulrich Strauss is a replacement driver for Saitek’s Flight Simulation Panels.   The just released version 0.8 now provides full support to Saitek’s Flight Instrument Panels as well.

HDCMPIndeed, the recent drivers from Saitek have brought improvements over older versions.  That’s no doubt about it.  But they are still lack of flexibility and configurability.   Especially, the company’s FIP driver still only support a subset of the simulation variables.  This has caused incompatibility issue among those 3rd-party aircrafts which use the simulation variables extensively in their designs. News: New FIP Driver and New Simulator

Noted by Jack Pickett, Saitek has released a newer driver 7_0_42_12 for the FIPs.   It updates all “DirectOutput.*” files under “C:\Program Files\Saitek\DirectOutput” directory.   As usual, you won’t get any idea from the company regarding what’s been fixed and changed in the new driver.   Anyway, it works without a problem.

In addition, Paul Racines sent the link of a coming simulator by NGIS (Next Generation Interactive Software).   Watched the video at the bottom of the page.  Very impressive.  Not sure what it will bring to general flightsimmers yet.

Thanks Jack and Paul.

News: Shaders Cleaner is now P3Dv3 Compatible

A new version of the Shaders Cleaner has been added for Prepar3D v3.    Next update will handle systems installed with both version 2 and version 3.

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) / Doctors Without Borders needs your support.

311: Prepar3D v3 Available Now

Just in case you are not aware.   Version 3 of Prepar3D is now available.   It’s a good thing to see improvements from the simulator.   But it’s sad you need to pay again — no discount, no upgrade — strictly business.

Nevertheless, simmer’d better hold their upgrade for fixes to new issues reported, especially to those who are Orbx scenery fans since addon installation is different again.

Afterall, there’s no discount for early birds.   Why rush?

310: Free Mesh

Just came across this FreeMeshX from NineTwo Production on the Internet, which was released in early May.   It looks gorgeous.  Some simmers on the Avism.com forum (extra information about the FreeMeshX here) say it is significantly better than the FS Global or even the FS Global Ultimate in some aspects.

It’s completely free.  Worth some download hours to get them, especially you don’t have any mesh so far.
