744: G58 ENG with Landing Gear

In addition to some minor fixes, the B58-Style Engine Cluster for the G58 in MSFS has been updated  to R1r01, which now includes the landing gear indicator as well.

727: I Gave My PC a Little Push

Probably like most of you, I don’t deliberately overclock my computer even though the hardware I got are OC-capable.  Normally I just leave it to the BIOS to auto tweak the computer a bit by default.

Surely this is fine as our systems can run to spec stably.

Unfortunately, no difference from other flight simulators, the MSFS 2020 performs better on better performing computers.

Therefore I lately further enabled XMP, thru which I got about 8-10 fps increase in MSFS by pushing the DDR4 RAM from standard 2400MHz to its rated 3200MHz.  That’s not insignificant I dare say.

715: Recalibrating Yoke and Rudder Pedals

Found this video on Youtube and followed what he suggested on recalibrating my Rudder Peddles and Yoke even though they are not from Redbird — my Yoke is from VRInsight and Rudder from Saitek.

The result was surprisingly good. Not sure if it is Continue reading

687: Make Hong Kong more Lively

If you own the Hong Kong City Times from SamScene3D, note that it has just updated to version 1.3.1, in which many animated billboards plus various visual improvements are added.

To make it more lively, do supplement it with the Port of Hong Kong by superspud.

The freeware blends with the Hong Kong City Times nicely and fills the Kwai Tsing Container Terminals, the eighth busiest container port in the world, with many many many Continue reading

683: JF-PA28 VOR2 Left-deflection Fix

Have you ever noticed when the Just Flight PA28 Arrow III for MSFS is loaded with engine JF-PA28-VOR2-Needlerunning (meaning the aircraft isn’t started from cold and dark), its VOR2 needle is always deflected to the left?

It’s a bug, I believe, since the needle won’t return to center when no NAV signals are present.

To correct this error, we’ll have to flip Continue reading

682: A Correct Pattern Flight

Albert Welledits, a pilot in Austria, sent me a video of a pattern flight at LOAN (Wiener Neustadt East Airport) on his flightsim cockpit simulating the Diamond DA20.  He says the Rwy 09 in Service is a very challenging final, and he hates it on windy days, in particular.

His skill is very good, no doubt.  And to me, Continue reading

681: AC582SL MSFS Version

The Air Creation 582SL was my favorite ultralite trike in FSX/P3D, for which I developed FIP Gauges for it a few years ago.  I am so glad to find a remodeled MSFS version of it in Flightsim.to, which seems attracted a lot of interests now.

Had it installed and flied with it for some hours.  Frankly, wouldn’t say that it is as good as the original.  But at least it is playable.  In particular, my original AC582SL gauges can fully work with it without any issue, including the backlit too.

I have modified the gauges Continue reading

679: Increase MSFS FPS Instantly

While I was cleaning up and finalizing my work PC with new components yesterday, I discovered an effective way to increase FPS and smoothness of MSFS instantly.

The trick simply involves the changing of a few options in the game.
