479: Time to Move On

FSX Times in January was a bit quiet after the Christmas and New Year holidays because there were many things happening to my flightsim system.    For one, I have “upgraded” the FIP driver from Saitek to Logitech version.

Truly, back in last August, I mentioned in my Post 447 that the “new” Logitech drivers are in general the same as the “old” Saitek drivers.   “Upgrade” is not necessary and it is still valid.

However, as my new X-Plane gauges were developed under the Logitech plugins; and the number of my FIP gauge users running the Logitech version are steadily growing, the switch, to me based on my own situation, is inevitable.

This also means that all my existing installers and utilities have to be upgraded accordingly — so that they will not only fit for the previous Saitek and SPAD.neXt installation, but also good for the new Logitech setup.

I am glad that all works are completed after weeks of intensive programming.

It’s time to move on.

 

478: A Quick Buttkicker Gamer 2 Review

The Buttkicker Gamer 2 is a device that takes the bass from your sound output and converts it into vibrations.  You can attach the actual Buttkicker to your chair as shown below.

48RE has been private pilot for 24 years.   Due to long working hours, he is sometimes difficult to find time to go flying the real thing and practice to keep sharp flying skills.   So more than three years ago, he built his own virtual cockpit to help keep current on his flying skills, especially IFR.

He says that building the cockpit and programming everything to work as it should was as fun as flying it.   Moreover, practicing IFR flights and instruments approaches on it is priceless.

476: C172SP Back Light Now Ready

The Back-Light Features of the C172SP gauges are now ready for download on this Christmas Eve.   The earlier released Integrated Fuel Engine Gauges and Wet Compass have been updated accordingly as well to better match with the new comers.  Current users should have received the links in their mailboxes by now.

475: C172SP Back Light Version Coming Soon

Following the Wet Compass and Integrated Fuel Gauges, the rest of the C172SP gauges are going to have back light soon.   The Saitek version for FSX/P3D will come first, hopefully by the Christmas day.   The A2A C172R will come next; but will need a month or two since most graphics have to be done from scratch. 474: Mooney Bravo VSI with Cowl Flaps

The Cowl Flaps Indicator is a “missing” feature that has been requested since the launch of the Mooney Bravo FIP Gauges.   It’s here now at last.

Furthermore, an additional aileron Flaps Indicator is also included.   In general, all essential instrument in the cockpit have been included.
