843: EIS for X-Plane C172SP-G1000 Released

Here’s the X-Plane version of the EIS (Engine Indication System) developed for the C172SP-G1000 per some friends requests.XPL_C172SP_EIS_GIFS

Feature-wise, it functions identically to the one developed for MSFS.  Its appearance, however, is fully revised according to the G1000 on the C172SP in X-Plane.

Similarly, it is a good supplement when flying the C172SP-G1000 or the C172SP with the FIP Generic G5 Gauges. Continue reading

517: C172R and C172SP Annunciator Panel Released

The Annunciator Panels for the A2A C172R and default C172SP are now ready.  Below is a video capture of the panel added to the Compass on the A2A C172R.

Similar to the C172SP one previewed in Post 515, the C172R annunciator panel will only pop up when error warning lights or equipment status indications are turned on, so that it will not affect the design and functions of the Wet Compass as well as the overall layout of the FIP gauge setup.

However, since the contents and reactions of each annunciator panel Continue reading

500: XP C172SP INTFG (Logitech) Released

Here at last the Integrated Fuel Gauges (INTFG) for the X-Plane C172SP running Logitech FIP drivers.   It is fully customized for the aircraft even with the adjustable EGT reference needle.

Unfortunately, there is still a feature yet to implement — the fuel-flow needle doesn’t work properly yet.

Nevertheless, instead of keeping it away from the shelf,  I replaced the fuel-flow instrument with CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature, a common feature found on Cessna aircraft) as an interim option until the solution is found.

Both CHT and fuel-flow options are included in the gauge package.   When the fuel-flow option is chosen, users may regard it a failure, which adds fun too.

All current X-Plane C172SP (Logitech) users could contact me for discount if interested in this new instrument.

Lastly, since I am not a full X-Plane simmer, help on implementing the fuel-flow feature is welcome and appreciated.    In return, a full set of the XP-Logitech C172SP or B58 gauges (or any of my bundle gauges) will be given to the first person who help solve the issue as a gift.

Following is the implementation I did so far: Continue reading

476: C172SP Back Light Now Ready

The Back-Light Features of the C172SP gauges are now ready for download on this Christmas Eve.   The earlier released Integrated Fuel Engine Gauges and Wet Compass have been updated accordingly as well to better match with the new comers.  Current users should have received the links in their mailboxes by now.
If not, notify me in the Comments section below or contact me by email.

475: C172SP Back Light Version Coming Soon

Following the Wet Compass and Integrated Fuel Gauges, the rest of the C172SP gauges are going to have back light soon.   The Saitek version for FSX/P3D will come first, hopefully by the Christmas day.   The A2A C172R will come next; but will need a month or two since most graphics have to be done from scratch. 472: The Wait is Over

As early as in February this year, I released five C172SP gauges for X-Plane, which were to be run on the SPAD.neXt driver platform.    I was optimistically hoping that a full C172SP gauge set for X-Plane could be done by the end of the year.   Unfortunately, there was no progress at all regarding X-Plane FIP conversion support since then.

To be frank, it’s nobody’s fault, and we all know that plans don’t always catch up with plans.   On the bright side, it is a good push on my new direction for developing X-Plane gauges based on the platform’s native datarefs and commands.   Moreover, I still see many X-Plane flight-simmers running FIPs with the default Saitek/Logitech Plugins.

So, here it comes the new C172SP X-Plane (Logitech) gauges, plus the Wet Compass just completed.

Truly, Continue reading

470: The X-Plane C172SP Gauge Set is Coming

Following is the movie clip of the C172SP Gauges developed for X-Plane 11.   Even better, the gauges could run properly without the need of SPAD.neXt.

For those systems which have Saitek or Logitech drivers already installed, the X-Plane addition is a no-brainer.

Since these gauges are written from the native X-Plane datarefs and commands, they are NOT COMPATIBLE with the “FIP Support” feature in SPAD.neXt.

In other words, as long as the “FIP Support” feature under “DEVICES” of “Settings” in SPAD.neXt is DISABLED, these new X-Plane gauges could be run alongside with SPAD.neXt, if so desired, without any problem. Continue reading

384: Cessna ASI now Comes with a Clock

The ASI Gauges for the A2A’s C172R, C182T and the default C172SP are now c172sp_asi_gif_sall equipped with an LT and UT clock on an extra extended version.   This feature has been requested by many friends and here it comes at last.

The clock in LCD style, though still just a basic one, should also serve the basic needs from many users.

381: C172SP FIP Gauges R4 Update

ALL Gauges in both the Integrated and Standalone versions of the C172SP FIP Series have been updated to R4.    This update is an important one.   It not only includes many graphical enhancements but also resolves many issues in programming and rendering, especially when dealing with SPAD.neXt.
