In the last Post about migration from Saitek to Logitech FIP drivers, I put a divider right after Step 9 in the article. It is because the succeeding process mainly is the copying of previous FIP gauges to the new locations.

Here’s the new utility SL_Migrator (Saitek-to-Logitech Migrator) I just wrote to help do the job efficiently. Especially, it will copy and convert the original SaiFlightSimX.xml and SaiFlightFip.xml to the appropriate Logitech version if they are found, so that users can quickly restore the gauges they were running before the migration. 480: G5 PFD Attitude Indicator Update
A friend, Christian, recently told me that he was confused by the movement of the attitude indicator arc and triangle above it on the Generic G5 PFD. He asked if it is possible to modify the attitude indicator like the real Garmin G5 does as shown in the image on the right below, so that the arc and the triangle above it move with the horizon and have the lower triangle stay in relation to the plane.
I fully understand his frustration as I sometimes got confused as well.
Actually when I developed the instrument, I did aim to implement the attitude indicator as the Garmin G5 does. However, Continue reading
477: AC582SL with Back Lights
The Air Creation 582SL coming with FSX is my second favorite aircraft. The bundle gauges have just been updated with back light plus new features and bug fixes. As always, current users should have received the Download Link by now.
If not, Continue reading
475: C172SP Back Light Version Coming Soon
Following the Wet Compass and Integrated Fuel Gauges, the rest of the C172SP gauges are going to have back light soon. The Saitek version for FSX/P3D will come first, hopefully by the Christmas day.
The A2A C172R will come next; but will need a month or two since most graphics have to be done from scratch. Continue reading
474: Mooney Bravo VSI with Cowl Flaps
The Cowl Flaps Indicator is a “missing” feature that has been requested since
the launch of the Mooney Bravo FIP Gauges. It’s here now at last.
Furthermore, an additional aileron Flaps Indicator is also included. In general, all essential instrument in the cockpit have been included.
Existing Mooney Bravo Gauge users could contact me for discount if interested. Others could visit my store here.
472: The Wait is Over
As early as in February this year, I released five C172SP gauges for X-Plane, which were to be run on the SPAD.neXt driver platform. I was optimistically hoping that a full C172SP gauge set for X-Plane could be done by the end of the year. Unfortunately, there was no progress at all regarding X-Plane FIP conversion support since then.
To be frank, it’s nobody’s fault, and we all know that plans don’t always catch up with plans. On the bright side, it is a good push
on my new direction for developing X-Plane gauges based on the platform’s native datarefs and commands. Moreover, I still see many X-Plane flight-simmers running FIPs with the default Saitek/Logitech Plugins.
So, here it comes the new C172SP X-Plane (Logitech) gauges, plus the Wet Compass just completed.
Truly, Continue reading
470: The X-Plane C172SP Gauge Set is Coming
Following is the movie clip of the C172SP Gauges developed for X-Plane 11. Even better, the gauges could run properly without the need of SPAD.neXt.
For those systems which have Saitek or Logitech drivers already installed, the X-Plane addition is a no-brainer.
Since these gauges are written from the native X-Plane datarefs and commands, they are NOT COMPATIBLE with the “FIP Support” feature in SPAD.neXt.
In other words, as long as the “FIP Support” feature under “DEVICES” of “Settings” in SPAD.neXt is DISABLED, these new X-Plane gauges could be run alongside with SPAD.neXt, if so desired, without any problem. Continue reading
467: Logitech Driver 8.0.144.0 has Error
While working on a fix to address the differences in filenames between the old Saitek drivers and the new Logitech drivers for the installer program of my gauges yesterday, I found the latest FSX and Prepar3D Plug-in on Logitech website simply has error itself.
Again, as suggested in my earlier Post 447, DO NOT update your already working Saitek drivers to the Logitech ones for the moment. If you already did or if you are new Saitek Gear users after the acquisition, at least do not use this 8.0.144.0 version. The earlier 8.0.132.0 version is fine.
This erroneous version was released in September Continue reading
466: Generic G5 HSI Released
When the generic G5 style PFD was released in April this year, I was saying that a matching G5 style HSI was being planned
(actually was being built) to go with it. However, the project was given ways to many other instrument over the months. Until now, it has finally completed.
Doesn’t like the G5 PFD which in some ways has been customized to be used on specific aircraft, the generic G5 HSI can generally fit on all aircraft that run on standard FS commands as its name suggests.
Besides working best in pair with the generic PFD, it is also a good replacement to the basic Directional Gyro when used alone.
Current users of the Generic G5 PFD, Continue reading
