754: GENERIC G5 HSI R4 Major Update

The GENERIC G5 HSI has been updated to Revision 4.

One of the major improvements in the update is the addition of a new VOR2 version, so as to better match with the operations on the aircraft equipped with the G1000 in MSFS 2020.

In addition, virtually all images of the new HSI are recreated with enhanced graphics rendering.  The results are positive, which are especially beneficial to all users who runs their Flight Instrument Panels (FIPs) with the default Logitech MSFS plugins.

532: XPL B58 HSI Now Works with VOR2

Although both FSX/P3D and X-Plane 11 comes with the BeechCraft Baron 58, their cockpit instruments, operations and features are not exactly the same.  One of these differences is the ability to select different HSI sources in X-Plane, which the FSX/P3D B58, including the Carenada version, doesn’t have.

The selection feature has been added to the XPL B58 HSI Gauge, on which users can now choose from NAV1 (VOR1), NAV2 (VOR2) and GPS as needed for course deviation indications.  Following is a video showing how the HSI works when the selection source is changed.

466: Generic G5 HSI Released

When the generic G5 style PFD was released in April this year, I was saying that a matching G5 style HSI was being planned (actually was being built) to go with it.   However, the project was given ways to many other instrument over the months.  Until now, it has finally completed.

Doesn’t like the G5 PFD which in some ways has been customized to be used on specific aircraft, the generic G5 HSI can generally fit on all aircraft that run on standard FS commands as its name suggests.

Besides working best in pair with the generic PFD, it is also a good replacement to the basic Directional Gyro when used alone.
