758: DHC-6 Twin Otter Gauges Presale

The DHC-6 Twin Otter by Aerosoft was one of my favorite in P3D and it continues to be the same in MSFS.

Initially I didn’t have plan to do gauges for the aircraft until mid-year.  But I have changed my mind to work on them after receiving some inquires and especially I’ve flown it for nearly a week.DHC-6_TwinOtter_GaugeBatchS
The first stage is to work on the nine (9) analog gauges as shown above,

Some of the C152 and DR400 Gauges are revised accordingly due to recent MSFS updates.

755: C172 Gauge 22-01 Updates

Due to recent MSFS updates, many of my FIP gauges need to be revised accordingly.

For example, the VOR2 of the C172 has been changed completely to an appearance similar to the Multi-Shared VOR1 that is used on the aircraft but with lesser features, such as no glideslope, etc.

In addition, the Ground Speed on the Extended Version of the ASI has to be revised to reflect the change in the MSFS update.

Besides, the C172 HDG, plus the Multi-Shared ALT, RPM, VOR1 and RPM used on the aircraft are updated accordingly with improved graphics rendering as well.

754: GENERIC G5 HSI R4 Major Update

The GENERIC G5 HSI has been updated to Revision 4.

One of the major improvements in the update is the addition of a new VOR2 version, so as to better match with the operations on the aircraft equipped with the G1000 in MSFS 2020.

In addition, virtually all images of the new HSI are recreated with enhanced graphics rendering.  The results are positive, which are especially beneficial to all users who runs their Flight Instrument Panels (FIPs) with the default Logitech MSFS plugins.

Here’s a short video showing the new GENERIC G5 HSI switching between VOR1, VOR2 and GPS modes:

Users of the G5 HSI please be noted that the new R4 Continue reading

751: MY SU7 GRAPHICS SETTING UPDATE

My graphics setting in MSFS has been changed accordingly to the recent SU7 and Game of the Year (GOTY) update.  Improvements are seen in general.GOTY_resize
Regarding the highly anticipated DX12, although the overall image quality with the new feature is enhanced and refined, and framerate seems affected very little only; unfortunately, it does brings frequent micro-stutters in many locations.  So DX11 is kept to be my choice. Continue reading

750: Ground Speed Display Fix

After the recent MSFS update, the Ground Speed Display on my MSFS FIP gauges no longer works. There are 3 types of instrument affected:

ASI Extended Versions of ALL aircraft
– Generic G5 HSI
– Generic G5 PFD

To fix the issue, one simply needs to change a command from
(A:GPS GROUND SPEED, knots) to (A:GPS GROUND SPEED) in the affected gauges.

Here’s how to do it: Continue reading

748: Windows 11 – It’s Good

Just upgraded one of my computers to Windows 11 today.  I wouldn’t say it’s perfect.  But I am impressed !
Windows11_resizeFrankly, I was a bit hesitated since I heard pros and cons from the Internet.  So before the process, I backed up my whole system just in case something goes wrong.

Despite the Apple mac-like centered taskbar and new layout designs, all programs on my computer generally start a lot faster than what they are with Windows 10.

Both MSFS and X-Plane 11 start up a lot quicker.  They run smoother with some frame-rate improvements, too.    Continue reading
