Just added “My Prepar3Dv5 CFG” to “My Project” group. Not only does it compare with the initial cfg generated after the first run, it also includes the file in PFD format for download, if anyone is interested.

News: P3Dv5 Hot Fix 2 is Here
In case you are not aware, P3Dv5 Hot Fix 2 is now available. According to LM, additional fixes for high priority issues are included in the new Client installer. The Content, Scenery and SDK updates are optional.
IMPORTANT: Make a full backup of your current setup before updating to Hot Fix 2, just in case, because past experiences tell new updates DO NOT mean they are error-free.
Also, check with what others say about the Hot Fix 2 in the P3D Forum before you proceed. It may saves you a lot of troubles.
News: P3Dv5 Hot Fix 2 Coming Next Week
According to LM, Hot Fix 2 for P3Dv5 will be released early next week. Client update is needed only. But there will be additional fixes in the optional content and scenery update.
News: Prepar3Dv5 Hotfix 1 is Here
Just found out Lockheed Martin has released a hotfix addressing P3Dv5’s high priority issues two days ago. Nearly missed it while I’ve been working on the Honeycomb Alpha yoke story.
Hope the most critical issues are fixed. Will report back once downloaded and installed.
Edit 1: Run the Hotfix version briefly and confirm that the landscape issues in KHQM and LSGS earlier reported have been fixed.
Edit 2: Run the Hotfix version for nearly two hours with active ATC. No crash seen so far. Seems the fix does the job.
573: A Quick Update on P3Dv5
I flew the P3Dv5 continuously for nearly three hours this afternoon. Besides the
landclass issues that I mentioned in my Post 568 earlier, I didn’t encounter any other issues reported in P3D forum during the session (perhaps some but not noticeable to me) luckily.
Of course the ATC service was kept silence all the time except during take-off and landing. This is a known bug so far causing freezes or CTDs. Other than that, I really feel the new simulator runs smoother.
Be the way, I have clean installed the latest Nvidia drivers again and Continue reading
568: Really No Need to Rush for P3Dv5
After running P3Dv5 for two days, my initial impression stated at Post 564 continue to be valid. Also true is my earlier comment saying that “there’s really no need to rush for it.”
If I remember correctly, every time when P3D had a major update (1.xx, 2.xx, 3.xx, 4.xx), the very first version always full of issues. This latest version 5.0 is of no exception.
Followings are a couple of photos comparing the Sion Airport (LSGS) and Bowermen Airport (KHQM) between version 4.5 and 5.0.

564: A Quick Impression on P3Dv5
I ran the new P3Dv5 for a few hours this morning with many addons (such as Orbx scenery and Carenado Aircraft) I used on P3Dv4. As expected, it didn’t give me too much excitment, including the new logo and the new design of the option menu in the program, for which I am well prepared from what I experienced from the company’s previous updates in about every two years.
But to be fair, there are still many improvements and some are very nice indeed,
for example the Enhanced Atmoshperics feature, from which I get the sky color tone on my HDTV more true to the reality. This is the first time from all the flight simulators I’ve ever played so far. Continue reading
Misc: No Rush – When it comes, it comes
Now is 3:05pm 14-April in Hong Kong or 3:05am the same day in Orlando, Florida, where Prepar3D of Lockheed Martin is located.
Normally it took seconds to enter the Prepar3D website and now it takes minutes or sometimes it even gets an “Error establishing a database connection”. There must be a lot of people around the world like me trying to get a copy of the newest version 5 of Prepar3D as earlier as possible.
Unfortunately, there’s still no sign of it.
No sure if it is because the P3D team is still working hard to get the shop ready to catch up with the launched date? Or the new version will only be available starting from office hour 9:00am in the area?
So, no rush! When it comes, it comes.
Edit: It’s finally arrived at about 4:00pm EST US – almost time for home ;)
News: Prepar3D Version 5 is Coming
If you are a friend of Prepar3D like me, mark on your calendar that version 5 is coming in a week’s time (14-April). Not much about the details of it so far but here’s the video Lockheed Martin posted on Youtube. The ground texture of the airport runway at the end of the video looks amazing.
A good news at least for many of us needed to stay@home these days.
