498: RealAir Duke Gauges R2 Update

The FIP Gauges for Duke B60 and Duke Turbine from RealAir Simulations have been updated to version R2, which includes new gauges (such as a new Engine 4 in the Turbine set as shown on the right) besides fixes and optimizations.

In addition, the updated gauges are now Logitech drivers compatible.

Exisitng users should have received notification emails containing download links in their mailboxes by now.  Should any user not receiving the update, feel free to contact me by email or via Comment of this post.

452: New Legacy Airspeed Indicator

The Airspeed Indicator for the Lancair Legacy from RealAir Simulations is now available from the FIP Gauge Store.

Although there are still no engine gauges specifically developed (or planned) for the aircraft yet, Legacy pilots should be able to compose an operable cockpit with most of the key instrument from the ASI and the MULTI Shared Gauges under the RealAir category now.

365: RealAir Duke Gauges Major Update

The RealAir Duke Gauges have been updated to version 160622, which includes a number of fixes and major graphical RASDuke_160622_GIFenhancement, plus the additional “Extra” VSI version and Oil Quantity in Turbine Engine set.

Existing users should have received email(s) containing the download links and related information by now in their mailboxes.

Another upgrade to come soon is the GaugeSwitcher utility.   The new version will not only simplify UI and operations, but also has the ability to delete unwanted profiles from the list.   Most importantly, there will be no more needs of pressing “Esc” during switching.

362: Duke Turbine Engine Gauges Released

The Moritz Digital Engine Gauges for the Duke Turbine V2 are now ready, RASDukeT_ENG_JPGwhich completes the two RAS Duke gauge sets released earlier in March.

This engine set consists of six gauges in pair format, including the Torque (TRQ), ITT Temperature, NG %RPM, Prop RPM, Fuel Flow and Fuel Pressure.

One known issue — small deviations sometimes appear on the NG %RPM and Prop RPM gauges due to the two gauges using local variables (Lvars), which the Saitek FIP driver doesn’t support.  It’s more prominent when the aircraft is on the ground, and less significant in the air.

Nevertheless, various workaround codings have been implemented to minimize incompatibility derived from the Saitek drivers. Continue reading →

349: Duke B60 Engine Gauges Released

Despite little interest received, I just created the engine set for the RealAir Duke B60, which RASDuke_ENG_Htotals five gauges, including the Manifold Pressure Indicator, Tachometer, Fuel Flow Indicator and two Integrated Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature & CHT Temperature Indicators, so as to complete the aircraft’s cockpit development.

346: For B60 Users’ Eyes Only

There are a few inquiries asking if I will do the engine gauges for the RealAir Duke B60, in particular.

“How many simmers would have 14 FIPs to accommodate the full B60 set in their system?” is really a question.   Therefore, the priority of them is very low on my project development list.

342: RealAir Duke V2 Gauges Second Release

Following the un-announced Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI), the remaining Altimeter (ALT), Radio Altitude Indicator (RDA), Radio Magnetic Indicator (RMI) and VOR2 with GlideSlope Indicator (VOR2) for the Duke B60 & Turbine were completed earlier than expected.

341: First 4 Gauges for RealAir Duke V2

The project for the RealAir Duke Turbine V2 gauges have been started for nearly a month.   At present, the Airspeed Indicator (ASI), Attitude Indicator (ATI), Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) and Turn Coordinator (TCR) are now ready, in which the latter three share the same gauges on the Duke B60 as well.
