662: PC12 Engine Gauges for X-Plane Released

Carenado’s Pilatus PC12 for X-Plane 11 is a fun aircraft.  With the FIP Gauges of ALT, ASI, RMI and VSI developed for it a little over a year ago, here comes the Engine Gauges for the aircraft at last.

Due to the long vertical span of the Engine Panel on the aircraft, the layout is splitted into two parts to be able to display on two Flight Instrument Panels (FIPs).

The styles of the Fuel Quantity and Engine Oil Temperature and Engine Oil Pressure indicators are also changed slightly to better fit on the FIPs.

In addition, Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) and Exhausted Gas Temperature (EGT) are included to replace the fuel currently “USED” on the original instrument.

However, there is one little glitch on Engine 2.  Although the value of the Engine Oil Pressure is based on the data fed from X-Plane, it results a little differently from the indication shown on the virtual cockpit.  Except that, everything works fine as it is.

Nevertheless, the two gauges perform nicely together and look good either side-by-side or put on stack to match with the original layout as shown in Philippe Boudreault cockpit.

Any Carenado PC12 users with FIPs could find details here if interested in these two Engine Gauges.

Lastly, I would like to thank Philippe Boudreault.  Without his initial sponsors, these two engine gauges probably wouldn’t exist as they are complicated to develop and demands are limited.  They had no priority at all.

  1. Hi Tom,

All of my FIPs are running through SPAD (XP11). Will your gauges work with my FIPs?

I am very interested and have been looking for these gauges for a while.

    Thanks,

    Scott Sheldon

    1. Hi Scott,
Some of my users reported to me that they can run my gauges with SPAD.neXt in XP without any issue. The developer of SPAD.neXt once told me that as well.
If you can run the default gauges coming with the Logitech FIP in XP with SPAD.neXt, my gauges should be run with SPAD.neXt too.
      However, I can’t guarantee full compatibility since I don’t use SPAD.neXt for XP11 myself.

    1. Hi Brian,
In theory can. However, due to differences between FSX and X-Plane, some of the functions are not possible to be transported to FSX. For example, FSX aircraft don’t have ADF2, and there’s no function to toggle between NAV1 and NAV2, etc.
If you don’t mind losing those features and paying extra to get the gauges, you can contact me by email for discussion.
