MSFS is really a depressing game to me. It took me nearly two months to get it installed on my PC in the beginning. Then having this and that issue fixed and solved over the months, I finally had it set up right recently.
But after the latest France update yesterday, it crashes to desktop (CTD) on BOTH of my machines, meaning I am totally shut off from it.
I am currently reinstalling the game on one of my machines again. It’s going to take another 12 hours or so, l believe, for the 171.83GB contents.
The most painful part is, it doesn’t guarantee the reinstallation would work at last.
MSFS really doesn’t like me…probably.
Bless those who get well with MSFS all along.

Tom I feel for you, have downloaded France update for FS2020 but not tried the sim for ages, it can look gorgeous, but has so many bugs still, have left it on backburner just now and concentrate more on P3Dv5 and even old FSX for unfinished missions for foreseeable future.
Interesting to note FS2020 can be installed on two separate PC’s, have two good ones too, might try this soon for test add ons.
Its time Asebo stopped giving us the glam updates that often conflict with third party scenery , despite statement to the contrary they said they would do before and concentrate on core content, promised DX12 and the high fidelity flight models.
Then start spending time on new scenery areas for free, there is so much wrong with basic sim and it has so much potential. I really hope this simulation can come to fruition some day soon., just now its one step forward, two steps back, hardly ideal :(

Yes, the game is buggy. Good news is: it bas been recovered on both my PCs. One by reinstallation to a new directory and the second by creating an empty Community folder.
I really had a thought to go back to P3Dv5 or X-Plane and leaving MSFS behind.
It’s really annoying to deal with the various issues again and again.

Hi, Tom. I ran into the same problem. Maybe you already did, but try deleting the community folder. Most often it is due to an addon that has not been updated yet. It helped me. Took me a while to find the culprit though.

Do you mean deleting the Community folder and have MSFS to regenerate it again ?
Good suggestion. I’ll give it a try.
Thanks Robert

Affirm Tom. I use MSFS Addons linker which a great tool to select only the addons you want.

Thanks Robert.
One of my systems is reinstalling MSFS. I’ll give a go on my other PC.
Yes, I am using Addons Linker as well but there are some Addons remain in the folder.
Should be a good idea to move everything out from the folder.

You are not alone, Tom. Latest France update crashes with RealSimGear’s [and other] add-ins.

Thanks Jim.
I didn’t aware of it. I got the realsimgear recently. I’ll have it removed and see if it helps.
