676: Is my Knowledge Obsolete ?

One thing that puzzles me a lot in MSFS since the beginning is how the aircraft are parked in the airport.  The picture below shows the most common manner how static aircraft are placed in MSFS.  MSFS_ParkingT2SShouldn’t the aircraft be parked in the opposite direction facing the horizontal line of the T-mark?

I don’t see any one talking about this or any corrections in the past updates.  Is my knowledge and understanding already obsolete ?

  1. Tom,

You are quite correct. In the real world, planes would park opposite to the MSFS depiction with the wings positioned over the intersecting line. The only reason a pilot would want to park a plane as pictured in MSFS would be due to a very strong wind condition to keep a parked aircraft’s nose pointed into the wind to prevent it from being blown over (if no tie-down chains were available). I doubt MSFS had that in mind.
