Philippe aka 1L2P in France spent a lot of time on flight simulators about thirty years ago. He decided to come to fly again when he saw the early versions of MSFS 2020. Followings are what he built so far.

Project Notes:
Over twenty years ago (Oh no, that’s at least thirty!), I spent a lot of time on flight simulators …
Last year, when I saw the early versions of MSFS 2020, I realized that the time has come to fly again. I would have to give up MacOS and go back to Windows building a brand-new rig.
The main goal was not to design a full cockpit but mainly to setup a kind of universal configuration to fly most of the time in GA while keeping the door open to the Airliners. I was screwed, and after only few weeks, I had to buy a larger desk!
Followings are my hardware and software so far:
- Intel Core i9 10900K – MB MSI MPG Z490 GAMING CARBON WIFI – 64 GB DDR4 3600MHz/CL18
- Samsung SSD 970 PRO M.2 PCIe NVMe 1 TB + WD BLACK SN750 NVMe SSD 2TB
- NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 FE (Yes, I found one at MSRP, but my keyboard F5 key almost died ;-)
- NZXT H710i Mid-Tower Case, Seasonic PRIME TX-850 Power Supply, Bequiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 Ventirad
- Philips 49″ LED – 499P9H – 32/9 5120 x 1440 70Hz HDR (Having large displays is mandatory with MSFS 2020!)
- WIMAXIT 13,3″ IPS Multi Touch Screen 1920 x 1080 HDR (You will always find something to put on auxiliary touch displays and tablets)
- HP Reverb G2 VR Headset (Having VR is also mandatory with MSFS 2020!)
- Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Edition Sidestick + Quadrant + Addons

- SimMax.it Single Throttle Engine Ver. 2.1 (An heavy metal very realistic GA TPM)
- Virpil VPC Constellation ALPHA-L & WarBRD Base (Received them only two days ago)
- Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder – TPR
- 3DConnexion SpaceMouse Pro (A lot of easy to find keys to bind in VR, and above all the control along 6 axes in all views, Pilot, External, Drone.)
- My old 1998’s Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel USB used as an elevator trim (That is so cool, what else? ;-)
- I was unable to find my 1996’s Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro Joystick again :-(
- RealSimGear GFC500 Autopilot (The cockpit Swiss army knife, very useful in VR)

- Logitech Saitek Flight Throttle Quadrant (For fun stuffs like helicopter tracking searchlight control ;-)
- Logitech Saitek Flight, Radio & Switch Panels, and 6 FIPs with a lot of well-known fabulous Gauges (SPAD.neXt only driven, everything is possible)
- Stream Deck XL (Used as launcher, PC monitoring, checklists reminder, all cockpit functions can be bound with graphic feedback display, and more…)

- Behringer X-TOUCH mini (the cheapest and the most efficient HID, to be configured directly and simply with SPAD.neXt, too many rotary knobs/buttons and state indicator leds)
- Some other fully customizable mini keyboards (ATC Panel choices, immediately accessible keys without searching in VR)
- MONSTERTECH Table Mount, Thrustmaster Flying Clamp
- Must have Software:
- SPAD.neXt for everything and more,
- ControlMyJoystick as the SpaceMouse driver,
- MSFS full voice controller (ask your co-pilot to work for you!),
- FSUIPC7,
- AutoHotKey (powerful scripting tools),
- LittleNavMap,
- SkyElite (thanks for the tip from Tom, I didn’t have enough screens.)
