739: My NEW GEAR – Bravo Throttle Quadrant

Another throttle quadrant?  Haha…Yes!

Frankly speaking, although I got two HoneyComb Alpha Yokes in my systems, I had never thought of getting the Bravo Throttle Quadrant because it isn’t something fitting my light aircraft setups.

Nothing is absolute.  When I saw a friend who was selling his nearly brandnew Bravo with $100 less than the market price, I couldn’t help getting it without much hesitation.  I gave myself an excuse — “It’s a good chance to have my hands on it.”BravoQuadrantS
After getting the quadrant this morning, I immediately had a quick test with it for an hour or so.  I would say it’s not bad at all……if I hadn’t individaul accessories (except the dual power capability) doing the same jobs in my system already.

Honestly, the Bravo Quadrant has a decent touch overall, but it is still not as good as what my individual accessories are giving (surely because they cost a lot more).  In addition, I had a feeling of using some sorts of Saitek/Logitech flightsim gears.

In essence, its space-saving footprint, no doubt, is a big advantage to me.  However, packing so many features in a compact housing, difficult accessibility to some of the features, such as the buttons, are inevitable.

Of course, above are my initial impressions only.  I will definitely further test on it to give it a chance to fit into one of my setups for the sake of dual engines.

If not, either it will end up lying on my shelf or be sold to someone else who needs it.

  1. Hi, could you do a button/control mapping for the Bravo for MSFS too please?

I am new into flight and have both the Alpha Yoke and Bravo Trottle but the button mapping is a bit confusing without background knowledge.

  2. Hi Tom, was wondering if you would try one :)

Bought this a while ago and pretty much agree with all you say, its a neat comprehensive package in a small footprint, use it GA wise for the twins, not really into the Airliners myself, but must try it that way for the thrust reverser ability soon, have their Alpha yoke too and very happy with it, noticed they are producing rudder pedals soon too, but am well served in that department with my TM TPR and motorcycle steering damper mod.

I hope they go on to produce more Flight Sim Peripherals, I do like their style.

Bought a 3D printed knurled/notched trim wheel for the Bravo on Ebay that clips on as I prefer that style rather than the smooth wheel it ships with, but otherwise I think its a great product and good value for money.

Keep up the good work Tom, do enjoy your posts.

    Cheers

    1. Looks like I am the last one having the Bravo after many of you. As said, if it wasn’t the -$100 offer, I wouldn’t have got it.
I am quite happy with the VirtualFly V3RNIO and even more with the latest Redbird TH1. They are quite good. Surely, they are for single engines only.

Will see how the Bravo goes. Still not sure if I will put it in my system replacing either VirtualFly or Redbird. Unfortunately I can’t keep them both at the same time.

For the rudder they are going to produce. I guess it will be a bit higher in quality than the Saitek/Logitech one but not as good as the TM TPR and other high grade rudder in the market.

Actually, I purchased Redbird’s RD1 rudder together with the TH1. Just a bit lazy and not in mood these days. Will write a post about it later.

You won’t believe it. It is even better than the TM TPR. In my experience, it is the best rudder so far I have ever used.

      Stay Safe and Happy Flying

  3. Love mine Tom, yes the buttons are a bit tough to get to. Also I found that using SpadNext is a must. I am using P3Dv5.
Funny you mention space savings… I wish it was smaller horizontal but maybe taller vertically.
