One of the most criticized issues with MSFS2020 is that the trees are oversized and don’t look realistic. There are many different solutions out there. For example, I’ve been using the “Short Height” Vegetation setting in REX AccuSeason Advanced Edition to deal with the issue. It does help a little, but the results are still not ideal.
Until recently, I found an addon in Flightsim.to called “Shorter Trees and Improved Density” by YankeeMike01. I was surprised to find out that it almost perfectly solves the problem of unrealistic oversized trees in MSFS, at least in my case.
In the past, due to the trees being too large, I set the number of trees to Medium in MSFS settings.
Now with the help of this Shorter Trees addon, I increase the setting to Ultra, which not only does not cause disgusting incoordination, but makes the entire MSFS scene more natural and realistic.
Actually, the addon not only adjusts the height of trees, but also adjusts the overall tree density and tree ratio in city.

I installed ‘Smaller Trees’ by RMStudios. Is that the same as this add on?

I don’t know. They look similar. The “Smaller Trees” from RMStudios is a payware.
And the one I am talking about from Flightsim.to is a freeware.

The freeware one also changes the general colour of the sim, I understand.

Since it’s free, why don’t you download it and try for yourself if it’s the same, or better or worse?

Then keep using RMStudios’ Smaller Trees and pretend you didn’t hear about the freeware. ;)
