524: New Gauges for Maule M7, Carenado C172N and A2A A35
A few more sets of FIP gauges for the default Maule M7, Carenado C172N and A2A BeechCraft A35 were developed in the last few months. In addition, the Carenado C152 gauges have also been updated. They are all ready now.
Among them all, the Autopilot Control (APC) for the Maule is the most interesting one as it not only fits on the Maule but also good for most other aircraft, in particular to those setups that don’t equip with any autopilot hardware.
523: My Cockpit Rev #08 – TV Surround
I don’t want to wait another day or another week and therefore spent the whole afternoon yesterday hanging up the TVs. Luckily I am using warehouse racks, installation was a lot simpler than I thought.
Here are some photos of the cockpit before and after the installation. A quick video of my first flight with the new TV setup is at the end.

522: My Cockpit Rev #07 – Big TVs
My cockpit rebuilding has ceased for almost a year. There were many reasons and one of them was the unsuccessful of getting reasonably priced but good quality TVs to be used as side windows in my rebuilding.
Luckily, I got a bargain deal last Sunday. It is a Samsung 49-inch with 4K capability. Price for two is about $1,000 which is even cheaper than a new iPhone XS.
The two TVs were received this morning. I have scheduled to put them up in the next couple of weeks.
So glad that I am finally moving another step forward after all these months.
521: Don’t Update Your Logitech Drivers
To all users running my gauges under Saitek/Logitech Drivers
DO NOT UPDATE your drivers to Version 8.0.150.0
The location of this driver has changed, making it no longer compatible with the installer of my gauges. In particular, it will remove all your gauges already installed.
If you do not have any issue with your current drivers, keep on using them. I don’t find any benefit but Continue reading
520: X-Plane C172SP Annunciators and Wet Compass Update
Some friends asked if there will be an Annunciator Panel for X-Plane. Frankly speaking, I never plan to make one in the beginning. Anyway, as they wish…here’s the X-Plane version for the C172SP.
Operation wise, it is similar to the other versions. The panel will pop up automatically on the Wet Compass whenever engine warnings are detected. It will disappear when the signals are gone.
In this way, the notification features can not Continue reading
519: Now I Fly 3D Occasionally
After the cataract surgeries last month, the vision of my eyes suffers from slight splitting when looking at lighted
objects, among which the computer display is the worst of all (similar as shown in the image but not as serious).
The doctor says the side-effect is normal, and the brain needs times to adapt to the artificial lenses newly implanted — thanks goodness, it is getting better now.
So in the first two weeks after the surgery, my main pastime was watching TV, in order to give my eyes some rests as well as training to adapt to the new lenses.
One day while turning on the TV, I spotted there is a Continue reading
518: C182T Annunciator Panel Released
The Annunciator Panel for the A2A C182T is completed. It’s features are similar to the C172R ANPL released earlier, except that it’s operations and responses are customized for the C182T.
Any existing or new users of my A2A Cessna Wet Compass could click here for details and get a 60% off discount until the end of the year.
